build a 'screen area'

Hi,

I need to build a 'screen area' for find start point and end point of text
or word (with rows and colums parameter) by mouse selection.

I have text file to select and diaplay in this 'screen area'.

A tipical example is ultra edit that selecting range of text show in the
status bar row and column number and also the byte selected.

Anyone know how to make that easy?
There are any control or component that i can use in the visual studio .net
enviroment?
