I just updated from windows update and after rebooting, my
Outlook Express is completely clean I mean all saved
everything is gone. Only the folders I made remain, but
they are empty. Also, evertime I open it, it wipes clean
everyting again. And if that is not enough, I jsut noticed
that if I leave a folder then come back to it, it purges
all email in the folder as well..

I could use any good suggestions at this time.

Yeah, sorry....

Your data is probably still there.

In win2K explorer, go to \documents and settings\%your user ID%\local
settings\application data\identities

that is, if your user ID is "administrator" (god forbid!) go to

c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\application
data\identities

You will probably see 2 identities there. Maybe more. look inside
them, and see if \microsoft\outlook express entries you have some
mailbox names you mrmember. If so, that's where your dat still lives.

Start Outlook Express, and create a new identity. You'll see a new
guid in the \identities path listed above. Simply copy and paste the
file you found before into the newly created \microsoft\outlook
express directory you just created. Restart OE, and you should see
all your stuff back again.

Also, please backup your mail folders. Weekly.
