Lately my Dell Computer has been crashing. What happens
is that I will be working on something and all of a
sudden, the computer switches to the blue screen of death
with the following message:
-----------------------------
A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to
prevent damage to your computer.
BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error
screen, restart your computer. If this appears again:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is
properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask
your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows
updates you need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly
installed hardware of software. Disable BIOS memory
options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use
safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your
computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options,
then select Safe Mode.
Technical Information:
*****STOP: 0x000000FE(0x000000FE).....
----------------------------
I am not sure where to start on this, I have a lot of
software installed on the computer, but nothing real
recent. I can't imagine trying to go thru all my
hardware and software, getting updates for all of them,
or should I?
HELP!
Sincerely,
Todd B Ridolph
