Bug with multiple USB flash drives

Just ran into this.

I had two flash drives plugged into USB ports this evening and was
copying data off of them.

99% sure this is how it happened:

Inserted drive A
Moved *some* data off A
Inserted drive B
Moved all data off B
Disconnected/removed drive B
NO folders or files showed on drive A, refresh, explore, nothing
Disconnected/removed drive A
Inserted drive A again
The remaining folder and files are now there again

*whew* I was panicking.

Anyone heard of this before? Hardware is an nForce2 chipset board,
USB 2.0 ports, both drives are only 1.1 however.

I'll try to reproduce to see if the order of add/remove, USB slot,
whether files remained, etc matters in what causes this.

I did verify that this is a problem and occurs every time. The order
in which the drives are inserted makes no difference. I have not seen
this happen at work on 2000.
