On Security Agents panel, Internet Agents report "Active". Clicking on link
goes to Internet Agent Status panel, which reports: "In-active" and "0 of 1
checkpoint currently monitored". Clicking Activate link does nothing.

On System Summary page, link "Last Scan Results" has a pop-up reporting the
number items processed. There is no blank between the number and the word
"item", redulting in the display "0items detected...".
 
Try these two solutions:

You can repair Windows AntiSpyware using Add or Remove Programs in Control
Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and click Change. Click Next, and then
click Updªte.


Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in -> command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quºtes).
3) Close and re-open Windows Defender.

Let us know whether it does, or nºt!

This seems to have repaired the problems. Thanks for the help.

FWIW, it was running fine (I think) until it asked to update itself. I
allowed it to do so, and it failed after updating.
 
I don't think that the update would cause your first issue, but at any rate,
glad the update repair fixed it.

There are a number of appearance items of the kind you mention in the beta1
product. They will all be fixed in beta2--so individual reports are not
needed at this point.
