After 20 minutes my secondary hard disk goes in energy saving, but on random
times it returns on, although I don't use it. Is it a bug?
My second hard disk contains multimedia files only and it's almost full, but
I don't use it.

Naw it's just indexing doing its best to slow your computer to a crawl.
Don't worry...it'll stop in a few weeks...maybe....

It's normal...

Your reply may have been in jest, but just to be clear, by default secondary
drives are not indexed. You can control what is indexed by going to the
Indexing Options control panel. Unfortunately I don't know what would cause
this issue ...

NO, you're wrong! Your a stupid troll!
My secondary hard disk is not indexed, in fact by default WindowsSearch
indexes only a small amount of folders in the primary hard disk (where
windows is installed) i.e. the Documents folder, the emails, the user profile
in c:\users. The indexing is very fast because only a small amount of folders
is indexed, and not the whole hard disk (the indexing is almost instantaneus
the first time you install Vista because you don't have a lot of documents)!

because the indexing is executed at low I/O priority without slow down your
PC).

I feel sooooooooo terribly insulted.

So basically the whole indexing is useless by default unless I put my
data files into directories that get wiped everytime the OS is cleanly
reinstalled!

Sounds like such a wonderful idea.

It all depends on how many changes you make. If your data files remain
pretty much static then there is little new to index. If howevr you
keep adding or changing files then the Indexer has more to do.

You can elect to index or not index by hard drive. Just right click on
the drive folder in Explorer and turn it off or on.

Actually it was in jest but some people are just too blind to see that ;)

It's fun to mess with em tho...=)
