I have a Header form and a detail form. In the detail
form I have a subform. When I run the application I see
the Header/Detail and in detail section can reference the
sub form. This is working fine, and I can click the +
sign in the detail form to review the sub form items. I
can also traverse through the Header records through the
Navigation button. The problem is the Following:
If I select the sub form in the detail section and then
try to go to the next header record, and if there are no
detail items associated with the header record MS ACCESS
quits and prompts me to send the Error Report to
Microsoft. On the other hand if I don't click on the sub
form items and Navigate there's no problem. It seems that
everytime I review the sub form and then access any item
that doesn't have any detail the application quits. I am
using MS Access 2002 (SP3). I think you can recreate this
since it's very consistent.

I don't know that I have a solution, however I found that I was confused
reading your explanation. Maybe that confusion is pointing at the problem.

The confusion revolves around the way you are referring to 'header' and
'detail'.

See below...
I have a Header form and a detail form. In the detail
form I have a subform.

Do you have 2 forms? Or a single form with 2 sections - a header section and a
detail section?
When I run the application I see
the Header/Detail and in detail section can reference the
sub form.

What is the 'Header'? Are you referring to the header section of the form? If
so, what do you have in that header section?
This is working fine, and I can click the +
sign in the detail form to review the sub form items.
I
can also traverse through the Header records through the
Navigation button.

Now you are referring to Header 'records'. This confuses me.

Are you displaying your header 'records' in the header section of the form, and
your detail 'records' in the detail section of the form? If so, that isn't the
intent of those two sections of the form, and that could possibly be the source
of your problems.
