Bug from Microsoft Updates?

I have been using remote desktop both at home on my home
network and from another city over the internet. All of a
sudden it won't work. I get the following message: "The
client could not connect to the remote computer, etc, etc."
I heard that it might be a bug introduced by Microsoft
automatic updates and that there might be a fix for it.
Does anyone know about this?

Thanks,
Len

Go to

Start->Programs->Administrative Tools->Services

and make sure that "Terminal Services" is not disabled.

If it is disabled, set it to Manual and reboot your system.
That solved the problem for my system. I have no idea
how it got disabled.

John:
Thanks for the info. I checked and Terminal Services shows
as "Started" in the "Status" column and "Manual" in the
"Startup Type" column. Is that what it should be?

When trying to use Remote Desktop over the internet I am
using dialup from my laptop. The desktop has a cable modem.
But I also have this problem when I try to use remote
desktop within the home from my laptop over my wireless
network to the desktop. And to top it all off, it all
worked at one time.
