hello
i got a h.p 6730 with windows xp,im running on a cable
connection.when im chatting on icq with friends i get d/c
with the message unable to connect,no buffer space
available.when i reboot i can reconnect back,is this a
window problem or a p.c. problem/ thank you.

Check your buffer(RWIN) size to see that it is adequate.
go>start\run and type in regedit and hit ok or enter on
the keyboard now navigate this route.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\
Parameters Click on parameters to select it and to open
the subkeys in the right panel. Now look for TcpWindowSize
and see what it is. It should be either 32120 or 64512 .
If it isn't then experiment with both settings to give you
maximum throughput. To change it right click on
TcpWindowSize and then click modify and for 32120 type in
7d78 and for 64512 type in FC00 . I have DSL and so either
size seems to give me max throughput. You will have to do
some testing to see which one is more compatible for you.
Keep smiling.
