Hi!

I'm hoping someone can help with this. All of a sudden I
have started to get the message "Buffer overrun detected!"
when I try to open Internet Explorer. The weird thing is
that if I open MSN Messenger and click to access the web
from there it opens fine. BUT if I try to open it from my
desktop I get this message and it just won't open!

I am running IE6 and have installed Service Pack 1 but
still no joy.

I'm totally stuck now and would appreciate any help!

Danielle

Most likely this is due to spyware installed on your system that starts when
IE starts. You should get one of the popular spyware detection/removal tools
like Spybot: S&D from http://www.spybot.safer-networking.de/en/index.html or
Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/ and see if they'll help you out of
this jam (keep IE closed while doing these scans). As well, be sure to fully
patch up your system with the latest Windows Update fixes if you haven't
done so already. Buffer overruns are vulnerabilities that have been
addressed in various fixes.
