I recently found software files on my system that were designed to report my internet activity back to a remote site. One of those files wrote an object to my registry. When I try to delete it, it says "Error opening object" Any ideas on how to delete an object that has an error when opening?

Run AdAware or Spybot (or both), which may spot the 'intruder' and allow
you to delete it.

I read of and downloaded a program called spybot that takes care of spyware. Smart Computing had the article about spyware (Clean-up your hardrive issue), or run a search for spybot.
