BT Account Holders Please Read BT Fix From another newsgroup

I have changed my settings as per the below message - it works!!
For the source see bt.broadband.support


"I have sorted my Vista problem at last.
The answer is to change the accont settings:
O/G Mail (SMTP) 25 to 587
This has sorted Vista for me.
Sorry it won't fix all of the other mail problems."
 
I have tried this and it works on my bt email but I also run a work email
which uses its own smtp which still does not like this configuration on my
vista machine but works fine on the XP machine we have. Any ideas?? Is this
still a problem with BT?
