What an informative moron!

Michael said:What I mean is you gave no information! How about an error number. Tons of
things can cause a BSOD. There are no mind readers here. When does it
occur, what version of Vista and SP#, 32 or 64 bit?

SteM said:Ok, sorry.
I talked about a so-called BLACK SOD, my thought is that the term says
everything.
My fault.
Vista 32 bit, SP2.
Normal start, safe start, last good start: everyone finish with a black
screen and a moveable mouse cursor.
With 'Repair' start i'm able to have the shell on X:
Following a lot of other messages i controlled some registry items
(Winlogon, Image File Option, ..) and they are good.
I refresh winevnt folder, no result.
I'm asking the group if there are other checks i can perform ...
PS: i think i had not insulted you ...
Did you get a specific error code? Maybe with this information someone here
can now help you.
SteM said:There is no error, then no error code: just blank screen and mouse cursor
Dave-UK said:If you have got a Windows installation disk boot
from that and chose the 'Repair' option.
From there you can try the 'Startup Repair' or do
a System Restore.
If you haven't got a Windows installation disk you can
download a repair disk from various sites but you need
to install Torrent software to download it.
If you don't want to use Torrent software here's my
Vista 32 bit repair disk:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DNXH16ZK
Unzip the file, burn the iso image to a CD and boot it.
Dave-UK said:I don't know of a way to modify the startup from the repair screen.
A System restore will revert the system to an earlier time, not your personal files.
