Hello people.
Well, let me tell you about my problem. I have a SONY CD-RW CRX210E1 (bulk). I’ve bought it about a year ago. It all worked perfectly, I recorded at 48x, 24x and 16 x, with Nero, NTI Cd-Maker and Acoustica MP3 Cd Maker. About a month ago, I tried to burn a cd (an image file), and while burning I got a blue screen, wich said that Windows was shutting down because of a hard or soft failure. I tried again, and the same thing happened. I uninstalled all the CD soft, re install it, first I tried with one, then another, burning images, Mp3, and every time I got the same blue screen.

I then tried burning at 16x, and I got to burn the cd, but after that, I got the blue screen, and once again I had to reboot my pc.
I could burn a cd at 8x, but then, ehen trying to burn another cd at the same speed, BSOD appeared again.

I’m running Windows XP SP1, with an 750MHz AMD Duron, 256MB SDRAM, 80GB HD, SoundBlaster Live! 5.1, ATI RADEON 9000, on an EPOX EP-8KTA+ VIA KT133 AGPset Motherboard.

I have run a test with Sony's driver utility and it all worked good.

The only thing I can add is that before the blue screen began, I add another USB port (the mother supports 3 of them, and that’s the amount I have). Oh, another thing, I still CAN'T uninstall Nero ImageDrive from my computer, even tough I tried, even deleting the keys in the registry, I still can't get it out.

Well, if you can help me out on this one I’ll be most grateful. Best regards,

Un-plug all USB devices and try again ... they will all be drawing power, as an alternative, get an external powered USB HUB

If that no fixy ... Hmmm, let us know.

Thanx muckshifter! I unplugged all USB devices and I could burn without the blue screen. Now, something happened. While burning, almost at 90% a windows error message appeared, tough the CD kept burning (it's good). The error went this way:
"dwwin.exe - Can't find the entry point of the procedure -something unintelligeble- in library of the dinamic link ntdll.dll ". I accepted and it was ok. Then, an other message appeared, saying that messenger.exe had a problem and was shutting down. The my pc rebooted....
Any idea?

Another thing, just to know, why, having a source big enough, do I have to unplug all my USB devices to be able to burn?
