Hello, I know sod all about computers, but I do know that I don't want my
laptop to crash every time I try to plug my new hard drive into it. The error
code is- 10000050

It's just a packard bell store and save 2500. My laptop is an Acer aspire
1680.
I don't expect any replies, but would be very grateful for them!

Q: My computer won't start correctly when the Store & Save is connected:

* Disconnect or power off the Store & Save before starting your
computer. Connect it or power it on when the windows desktop appears.

Most USB storage devices are provided with a single USB cable, forcing the
device to draw all its necessary power from just one USB port. In a few
cases, this single USB port can not deliver enough power for the device.

Solution
Using a double USB cable should solve the situation. The cable with P/N
7404850000 has an addtional USB plug for power only.

Note: First connect the cable to the PC (with the two big plugs), before
connecting it to the device (with the small plug).
