Hey, all. I have a major problem on my hands. I've been asked to resolve a
Blue Screen of Death for a local physican. His Windows XP Home machine dies
during boot, displaying the following BSoD:
"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.
REGISTRY_ERROR
If this is the first time . . . <<blah, blah, irrelevant words removed for
the sake of brevity>>
Techinical information:
***STOP: 0x00000051 (0x00000003, 0x00000003, 0x00000000, 0xE10EA000)"
I've tried performing a repair reinstallation, but the system dies with the
same BSoD after I select the option to repair an existing Windows
installation.
No valid backup exists for this unit, and I'd rather not have to wipe the
drive and reinstall unless absolutely necessary. Searching for
"REGISTRY_ERROR" and "STOP: 0x00000051" in the KB have yielded no hits. Any
ideas?
