BSOD ! - Multiple_irp_comlete_request

Keep getting the above BSOD on start up.
If I then reset at start again its ok.
Tried restore to period when it was ok, to no avail.
No luck with registry cleaners, virus checks et-al.
Loked at knowledge base, cant see anything that fits my hardware/software
configuration.
Any ideas very welcome.

Can You Boot Into Safe Mode

Run "chkdsk /r" From Recovery Console

Hi,
Can you please tell us more about your Operating system, software/hardware
installed recently!.
This Error message indicate the one or more Drive try to access or write to
the IRP ( I/O out packets) and failed or causi9ng a delay.
If you installed a new hardware try to uninstall it and see if it is a
incompatibility issue, also try to check the event viewer for more clues,
also look in Device manager for conflicting Devices in IRQ or malfunctioning
one(s) .

You randomly receive a "STOP 0x00000044" error message

Open a Notepad, customize or minimize to the taskbar as you will need it
later for this step to copy the error message on it.
Open a run command and type in:
eventvwr.msc click [OK] you will get the Event viewer control Panel.
click on each of these:
Application
System
Security
Look in the right Pane/window for error message with red (X) or Yellow
exclamation mark /!\ , double click each one to get more info about the
causer.
On the Event error properties message you will see:
Up Arrow
Down arrow
Two pages
Click on the two pages to copy the error message then bring up the Notepad
you opened earlier and right click on the first line and select Paste from
the list, this will paste the error message on a Notepad.
Please don't duplicate the error message one of each kind will be sufficient.

Please we need just the error messages with Red (X) and don't repeat the
error, just one of each kind and post them back in your next post.
I will assume the system is clean and running an up2date Anti-Virus
application, so try to capture the Process that causing this crash, either by
downloading the Process explorer from Ms site or by Task manager.

What hardware changes have you recently made?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What
drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in
the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for the last boot. No
Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate which also appear in
a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer.Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

The links were good explanations - pointing to a driver issue/conflict.

I havnt made any hardware changes recently. But on checking drivers I had
two with issues, creative soundblaster (external card), mising driver and a
USB hub. Resolved the former by disabling then restart; which also seem to
cure the USB hub. No BSOD on that restart !

Also ran sigverify.exe. Got the following unassigned:
a3d.dll driver version 2.9.0.0
sfman32.dll 5.12.1.130
intels51.sys 4.28.5.0
ad2kgelp.ini none
ad2kregp.dll 7.0.5.0
ad2kuigp.dll 7.0.5.0
adpdf.ppd none

Should I be concerned about these ?

The purpose of the exercise was to eliminate the BSOD, If you have done
that then job done. Drivers being unsigned does not mean anything is
wrong. It's just if you are trying to identify one creating a problem it
highlight a few to look at in more detail.

Thanks again for the reply.
Unfortunatly the BSOD has reoccured !, but not with the driver issues I
previoulsy highlighted i.e. no more yellow exclaimations, but still the BSOD.
So, I need to try some of the other things. Did run a driver update check,
there are a few news ones but nothing critical in my view. Also remembered I
had to swap my monitor from an HP (failed) to a Compaq; but it is down as
plug and play and working ok.
Any further ideas welcomed ?

Meant to say last time, I have been running PC Tools Registry mechanic on a
weekly basis for a couple of years and have not had an issue; but will stop
now as the view seems to be XP can take care of it on its own.

Thanks for hanging in there on this question !
BSOD still occuring on about 75% of start-ups.
A reset then allows normal start (don't need the safe mode).

Error message is still exactly the same as my first post.
No hardware devices have any issues under device manager (no yellow
exclaimations).

Did think about updating some drivers, but dont want to make the siutation
worse; previously used DriverMagic.
