Hi, I have read several queries on this board about the issue above
but none have solved my problem. Firstly let me say that I am
relatively new to networking so any dummed down help would be greatly
appreciated!!
I have a vpn set up through my server with one NIC using PPtp. it is a
small company with only one server, which acts as a file server, a vpn
server and a Wins server (i assume).
I want to be able to browse the files on the remote client PC to
import them into a database at the office end.the client does not
appear in the windows network workgroup, although browsing the local
network from the client end is no problem.
I have altered the WINS settings on the client machine and on the
server side to enable NetBios over tcp/ip and have added the internal
IP address of the server as a WINS address.
Is there anything else I can do?
Is the fact that my WINS server is on the same machine as my VPN
server causing problems?
