Browser Windows won't maximize

My PC was working fine until I just installed Norton SystemWorks.
Now my browsers (IE 6.0 and Firefox) only "maximize" to the point
that they only go as high as about 1 inch from the top of my monitor
screen. How can I get them to be true "full screen" again.
I also noticed that my desktop items also do not any longer go up
into that top 1 inch.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
 
Did you change the resolution or any other screen settings? Does the screen
background colour extend into the top inch or is it black? If the answer to
either question is yes try adjusting the screen size on your monitor.

Open two maximized browser windows.
Right click the taskbar.
Click one of the Tile Windows options.
Pause.
Right click the taskbar.
Uncheck the tile option.
