Browser toolbar anchor or Lock the Toolbars

When I set my IE 6 toolbar preferences and click lock the
toolbar, I expect that the toolbar should be tha same
every time I start my browser.

The preference never hold consistently and I am constantly
reseting my preferences and clicking Lock the Toolbar.
This is a nusience.

Any comments suggestions and help would be appreciated.

Hi John,

If you are using Windows 2000/XP, try this:

1. Open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and goto this location:
2. Goto this location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
3. Click Edit > Permissions. Give yourself read-only permissions for the
above key and its subkeys.

This key stores the toolbar placements and "lock" settings. Read-only access
to it ensures that settings are not modified.

** I would also scan for malware products (BHO) to resolve the problem **
