All:

I have one w2k workstation running TCPIP. It is a member
of the workgroup: WORKGROUP. It is the only workstation
on the network.

When I connect to the network hub (router), I get an IP
address, etc, etc. Browsing internet is fine, etc. etc.

What I cannot do is browse the workgroup in my network
places. I get an error: "The list of servers for this
workgroup is not currently available".

I have checked the knowledge base for various articles and
I have tried to join a domain, rejoin the workgroup (clear
caching), add and remove netbeui and TCP/IP protocols,
check nbtstat, ping and tracert. Nothing seems to work.

Any ideas and thanks in advance for your help.

Peter.

"System error 6118 has occurred. The list of servers for this workgroup is
not currently available."
Symptoms: When using the net view \\computername command, you receive the
following error message: System error 6118 has occurred. The list of servers
for this workgroup is not currently available.
Resolutions: 1) disable ICF if you don't need it.
2) Open port # (UDP and TCP) from 135 through 139 and/or 445. To do this, go
to the properties of the connection>Advanced>ICF>Settings>Services. For
Microsoft file sharing SMB: add (UDP and TCP) ports from 135 through 139.
For direct-hosted SMB traffic without network basic input/output system
(NetBIOS) uses port (TCP and UDP) 445. Note: the external and internal port
numbers should be identical.
