Getting several Event ID 8021 on a couple of servers
every 2 hours most of the 24 hour period. All servers
including PDC, BDC's ,Master Browser and Backup Browsers
are connected to 2 network segments, one used for backups
and the other for the hundred of hosts.

The browstat status utility shows 1 Master Browser and 3
backups on both segments for the same Domain, not
necessarily the same.

Any suggestion on how to avoid these messages '8021, The
browser was unable to retreive a list of servers from the
browser master on the network \device\netbt_tcpip_
{card_id}.

This can happen when the Master Browser is multihomed. There
are several potential solutions.

1. Turn off NBT (NetBIOS over TCP/IP) on the NIC cards servicing the
subnet used for backup.

2. Prevent the multihomed servers from becoming master browsers by
disabling the browser service or editing the registry.
