Downloaded and installed MSAS, did a complete scan. It
found a problem with newone.com or nowone.com (something
like that), deleated it... now its been 5 days of no
internet on that computer. I tried everything I could
think of. When IE, Netscape or Mozilla are loaded, "done"
appears to a blank page. Fire walls are off, cable modem
IS functioning,(computer passes ping test). Have spent
hrs. trying to resolve this. I should have left it alone.
Help me !!! Kevin

Sound like a winsock problem, check the following WEB site.

I have a similar problem. I installed the program, did a
scan and found 31 security issues. I cleaned them all off,
restarted and my internet would not work. I called the
ISP, no problems between the cable modem and them. I
looked at my network settings and some how the "network
bridge" was eliminated and now I only have my 1394 Adapter
and the LAN adaptor and I can't figure out how to get it
back.
I've since removed this program, and now I can access the
internet, however ICQ, MSN, IE and netscape seem do
connect and disconnect at random, and my pop email acct is
also spotty at best. The weird thing is that all my
multiplayer games have excellent connections and very good
ping times. The problem seems to be with the HTTP and smtp
protocols.
I'm quite sure this isn't an issue with the Windows
Firewall as turning it off doesn't make a difference.
It seems microsoft should have done some more beta
testings before releasing this beast into the wild.

The bridge probably simply bridged the lan adapter to the 1394 adapter.
Unless you are actively using your 1394 firewire adapter for networking, the
bridge isn't doing you any good--you may be better off without it. I
suspect that if you ran the Network Setup wizard, it would reinstate the
bridge.

When you get these disconnections, is Microsoft Antispyware, and its
real-time protection, running? Does shutting it down via right-clicking on
the system tray icon change the behavior?
