I clicked on a geocities link and all of a sudden my
browsers location moved. The window, when maximized, is
now a couple of inches too low. I can't see the bottom of
it and the top of my screen shows about an inch of
desktop. I have to minimize IE to make it fit my desktop
now. How can I fix this?

close all instances of ie exept one.
resize ie to your preferred size and location.
press control and click onthe x button to close that instance if ie.
the next time you open ie, it should use the size and location of the last
one you just close.

hope this helps.

Internet Explorer Calculates the Web Page Window Size Incorrectly
When you create Web pages, the screen-size calculation that is used to
determine child window locations (and other items in a parent window) may be
incorrect. This may cause child windows (and other items in a parent window)
in an HTML page to appear off center, or to appear incorrectly in the parent
window of an HTML page.
