the main point of the article (browsehappy featured in the zdnet article) is
basically collecting testimonials from people who switched from IE to some
other browser (not just moz or opera).

A group that prodded browser makers toward better standards compliance is
urging people to abandon Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

The group has set up a Web site reminiscent of Apple Computer's "Real
People" ad campaign, which urged people to switch from Microsoft's Windows
operating system to the Macintosh. The site features first-person
testimonials of people who switched from IE to alternatives.

I personally hate the alternatives..... which is why I love and stick with
Avant Browser (tis much better than Opera, Mozilla, Netscape etc etc IMHO)

I'm still a loyal Maxthon user, too. I tried Firefox and Mozilla, but they
are simply not user-friendly enough, and the claim that they support tabbed
browsing is stretched at best. Yes, you can get real tab support with Tab
Browser Extension, but you can get that in IE with Maxthon or Avant as well.

I'm a longtime MyIE2 (Maxthon's predecessor) user myself, but I switched
to Firefox a couple of weeks ago. At first it was a trial, an experiment,
but Firefox has really won me over. As much as I do love MyIE2, its
inherent weakness is that it's built on top of IE. Firefox's tabbed
browsing definitely isn't up to MyIE2's level, but Firefox is much
stronger than IE in many other key areas -- more important ones, too.

(I tried TBE, but couldn't get it working right, so now I'm using the
recommend plug-in alternatives. Remember, too, that Firefox is still
developing. While IE's and MyIE2's interfaces are much smoother, Firefox
has won me over, methinks.)

"Is Avant Browser a secure browser?

Yes, Avant Browser is secure. Since it's based on Internet Explorer,
Avant Browser is as secure as Internet Explorer."

That's the most disturbing thing I've seen all day.
