All of sudden, I'm having problems with numerous (but not all) Websites in
IE6. The first page opens fine, but then I can't navigate within the site
or go to another site - I have to reboot the computer and try again. I
don't know the source of the problem and would appreciate any suggestions.
I've done a virus and spyware scan.

Or this fix.

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=259737
http://download.microsoft.com/download/msninvestor/Patch/1.0/WIN98/EN-US/mcrepair.exe

Hi All - here's the direct download URL. You need to take a look at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q259737 You'll need
to
download and run the mcrepair.exe program from that article to replace some
dll's and
a table (Asycfilt.dll Oleaut32.dll Olepro32.dll Stdole2.tlb) with older
versions.
You can rename your current ones for backup if you want to play safe. When
you run the
mcrepair executable, when it prompts you whether you wish to overwrite Newer
files,
make sure to click YES for each file ( do not select "No" or "No to All" ).
You need to replace them all. Try that and see if it solves your problem.

Unquote.

If you have or had Gator check this out.

I found my problem. I used "msconfig", under the startup tab are all the
programs that start when the computer boots. Through the process of
elimination, I started the computer without an item called "cmesys" and
seems to work.

Cmesys is a Gator product and I don't even know how I got it on my computer.
I found where it was and uninstalled it. Things seem to work fine now.
