browser font settings make pages display wrong

My website looks fine on my 17" monitor at 600x800 and my MSIE 5.5 browser set
to display medium fonts. If a browser is set to use larger fonts or if their
screen resolution is higher, then the site looks all out of proportion. It
looks terrible and of course I look like an idiot web builder (which could be
the case but please humor me here. Feel free to critique my site if you wish).

Please take a look at it at www.kathyspark.com. If it looks okay to you, go to
View/Text size and select a larger font and you'll see what I mean.

Can I force all browsers to use a font that keeps the rest of the page in
proportion?

Thanks,
Rusty

I use a 19" monitor set for 1024 x 768. Looks fine to me regardless of what
size font I set it for.

OT: I love the jewelry, especially the iolite necklace! As I type I'm
wearing a bracelet I made with Swarovksi crystals. Addictive little sparkly
things! They reflect the light from my monitor so beautifully. (There's
something kinda of geeky in that last statement, isn't there?)

You need to set the cell your image is in to vertically align to the top so
it won't move down when larger text forces the row to become taller.

As others have said, it's not nice to dictate pixel size. There's one site I
try to read all the time (it's really text heavy, but interesting stuff) and
they've hardcoded the type to be 11px which just makes it too hard to read.

The site is looking pretty decent, I like the gem look of your nav buttons,
but I'd try to get away from all those borders around your tables... looks
too boxy.

I am viewing 1024 res and it looked fine making the text
bigger did just that but still weas viewable, can i
suggest getting rid of the comic sans font tho? doesnt
look too professional and has become a slight cliche in my
opinion?

Otherwise its fine/// james
