I updated some Microsoft files today (only the critical
files recemmended by Microsoft), and since then I've had
consistent problems with my Explorer 6.0. Every time I
open my browser and am workign for a few minutes, when I
try to type in a new URL to visit, I get the following
message...

"Iexplore has caused an error in USER.EXE.
Iexlore will now close.
If you continue to experience problems, try restarting
your computer. -- Close"

Of course, I've tried restarting my computer, as well as
checking MS for critical updates again (in case they
didn't work correctly the first time, but since no
necessary critical updates are found upon a new search of
my computer, I assume the first batch worked properly).

Any suggestions for correcting the problem are welcome.

Thanks,
Alex

Because the problem occurs when you type in the addressbar, and only then,
you need to delete your history.
