I've recently noticed that IE6 (SP1) isn't displaying the full page.
For instance the BBC homepage at www.bbc.co.uk doesn't show the
picture and text that is usually positioned at the top of the page
below the 'home' text and the link to 'make this my homepage'.
Similarly, the Motley Fool site www.fool.co.uk just displays a blue
and a yellow strip horizontally across the top of the page. There's
no site logo, no tabs for 'discussion boards', 'portfolio', 'login',
etc.

I initially thoughht this might have started when I recently installed
XP's SP2, but removing SP2 has made no difference.

Any sugestions anyone?

Thanks,

Mike

Ah well - I've solved the problem myself...

I was just about to start a 'repair' installation of XP, but decided
to lower the barriers imposed by ZoneAlarm to see if that had any
effect. The problem disappeared. All I did was switch-off
ad-blocking and cleared out any tracking cookies that had been
installed. I'm mystified as to why this had any effect on the way in
which the two sites I quoted earlier are displayed, but the problem
has gone.

I had the same problem and tried what was mentioned
below...my fix also included going into Zone Alarm's
Program Control and highlighted each browser(I use Firefox
as well) - go to options button -in the entry detail-go
to the security tab-filter options-uncheck the "enable
privacy for this program" box.

Thanks Rex - I've not noticed that particular option before. I guess
there's a danger that I might have to actually read the ZoneAlarm
documentation ;-)
