How do I ensure that my browser will use all of the window
space. Currently for many web sites, the right side of my
browser window is blank. Thanks

That's hard coded in the Web site to make sure it displays the way the
author wants. IMHO it's bad coding.

I have that problem... so I've asked here how to prevent windows from being
auto-maximised (that way I can use other applications behind the browser).

Internet Explorer Calculates the Web Page Window Size Incorrectly
When you create Web pages, the screen-size calculation that is used to
determine child window locations (and other items in a parent window) may be
incorrect. This may cause child windows (and other items in a parent window)
in an HTML page to appear off center, or to appear incorrectly in the parent
window of an HTML page.
