Violet

Hello everyone:
I've been having problems iwth my browser (IE6 on WIN XP)
for a couple of days now. I've recreated the profile, but
the problem returns. Basically every time I click on a
link or type in the address of a site the browser hangs
from 6-10 seconds and then starts to load the page.

At the suggestion of other Posters I've downloaded Spybot
and Hijack this and updated and fixed what they found,
however, the problem persists. If anyone has any
suggestions please let me know. I am at my whits end.

Thank you.

Violet,
Are you using a Proxy?

Internet Options | Connection [tab] | Lan Settings [button]

Some users have reported if "Use Auto Config Script" was checked,
this caused a 20 second delay.

Hi:

I did double check and no, I'm not using a Proxy. I
appreciate the help though.

Violet,
Did you post your HijackThis log as suggested?
If so who did you sign on as, and I'll have a look?
