I just redid a website and added a new menu script. I had someone email to
let me know it was only viewable in internet explorer. Can anyone advise me
what to do to make it viewable in other platforms?

The menu views works in FireFox, but the rest of the page takes more
than 5 minutes to load in FireFox (I tested the menu at that point,
with several images still downloading, but the menu expanded and links
worked correctly.) Could be your correspondent gave up waiting.

The page loads and renders in 6 seconds in IE7.

The page load is 297KB - for a home page 50KB is the target I would aim
for. This should load in about 15 seconds on dialup.

Do you think the menu is the problem with the slow loading of the page?
It is an AllWebMenu that I'm using. They wanted links with subcats and I
found that software to use on the site.
thanks,
Lisa

We have "extreme" high speed internet and the site loaded almost instantly
in Internet Explorer and in Firefox. It was almost as fast on my G3
MacIntosh Safari. In some cases Allwebmenus can be slow in Macs but they run
fine on your site.

Thanks so much for checking on it.

The menu loaded fairly quickly in FireFox. As I said, it was the REST
of the page taking the time. Usually FireFox renders a page as fast or
faster than IE - in this instance I gave up waiting. Almost every
instance of every image required a round trip to the server, which I
have never seen before since FireFox is set to cache images, etc.
