Browser and Desktop

Hi All
What are the options in .NET (C#) for creating applications that can both
run within a browser and on the desktop in traditional mode?
Previously (VB6) user controls have been created to be embedded within the
browser and forms (ugh).
I know I'm being lazy and should search more but hopefully there is a
**quick** answer out there

Hosting windows forms controls in Internet Explorer via the
<object> tag is also something that you might like to try.

Then, there's also the option for deploying assemblies in the web server,
for which the browser may not be needed (smart client apps).
