Whenever I try to browse through an "Open File" dialog box it only looks at
one folder and there is never anything in this folder, however when I go to
the main folder through Explorer, the folder is full of files. Any
suggestions on what is wrong? Or what I can try to fix it?

Nope. It's just the regular browse dialog box to upload a file through HTTP
in IE 7 or to open a file in Office 2007 Beta.

Its not even the fact that I can't open this stuff. Its that whenever I have
"All Files" selected in the type drop down, my files are missing from the
"Open" dialog. Even some of my folders are missing. But when I look at in an
Explorer window instead, they're all present and accounted for.

Is the application you want to open a file for filtering out files it
can't open?

Well I haven't looked at IE7 for a while or Office 2007 beta but Office
applications certainly do filter out files they can't open by default.
Word for instance only opens files with a doc extension by default as I
recall.

The question really is do you have files in those folders of the type
normally opened by those apps?

What happens when you drag and drop a file from explorer to Word?
