Is there a way to limit just the domain appearing in the
browse lists? Several other workgroups appear that are not
accessible. Brought to my attention since one of them was
a competitors name.

Since I do not have any information on you network setup I am a little confused by your question.
Basically network browsing a WAN will work as follows.
The main segment with the PDC will have the domain master browser. Each segment (subnet) will have a segment master browser. The segment master
browsers will build a list of systems for its segment and then will forward its list to the domain master browser then the domain master browser sends the
completed list back to each segment master browser which goes to the client so it can browse the entire domain.
If you are seeing incorrect or unexpected entries in your network neighborhood then you most likely have a router that is forwarding ports 137 and 138. This
can cause problems on the WAN with a system a segment becoming the segment master browser for the wrong segment.
If you have workgroups that are showing up that are not accessible through network neighborhood, make sure they are also not accessible by ping.
Hope that helps
