I'm looking for a utility to browse a file (instead of editing),
preferably don't have to be installed. Just a standalone exe.

I search the internet but found many unrelated hits.

Thanks you.

Are you thinking about text files or any type of file
(=binary file)?

Text files only. Sometimes I just want to refer to some config files
but at other times I want to edit them. So I don't want to make them
ReadOnly. Using a editor would inadvertently edit it when referrring
to them. So I would like to set it up so that I can have an option
when I right click to select browse. Thanks.

In the old DOS days there was list.exe. Maybe it's still
around. It was written by Vernon D. Buerg.
