Brother HL-1040 Laser printer black only

I recently changed the toner cartridge. Now I get some
black streaks down the page I print. I can find no
reference to this problem under troubleshooting.
Can you help me?

The problem is probably related to the need to clean the printer. There
should be something in the printer user manual about correcting this
problem. Also, check the Brother web page for maintenance instructions for
your printer.
