I want to create PPT presentations for a CD. Everything is going good so
for except the links do not work.

The page that I am linking to is an html document. The links work within a
..ppt file but not as an html file.

When I am examine the code, the link is looking for it's location on the hd
and not looking on the cd.

Is there a fix.

Thanks in advance.

Delete the link, put the HTML file in the same folder as the presentation
and then re-create the link. That will force a "relative" link that will
work from the CD.

Thank you - that worked.

One other issue came up, is there a way to open a new window from that link.
What happened is when I shut down the linked html file, the ppt presentation
closed as well.

Try clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner. It should close the
window, but not close PowerPoint.

I appreciate your responses.

I did try the "X" in the corner and when I close the linked page, ppt
closes. It is almost like a 'open on top' in html instead on open new.

Any other ideas. Can the PPT html be modifed to have the link open as new?

Thanks again.

Then it must be a browser setting.

Thanks Sonia!

Can the html part of ppt be progrmed or can script be entered in ppt or html
to have the page do additoanl things?

Thanks again

Not that brave.

Thanks.

It isn't the effects that I want, it is the controlled navigation, slides in
succession for the student to follow with an occasion link.

The html side allows me to present this from html base files, jump into a
presentation and jump back out.

I was hoping that PPT2003 would enhance the html side for linking and direct
editing in html.

Thanks again!.
