I used to be able to broadcast a PPT thru the powerpoint exe and to start it
up with a windows reboot, but 2007 seems to have taken that option or hide it
very well, can someone explain to me how to create a desktop shortcut to just
broadcast the slideshow without opening office and going to all the steps to
broadcast the slideshow?

Were you using the presentation broadasting feature available in some earlier
versions of PPT? That's no longer available.

It hurts, I hear that. I tend not to put much trust in any new feature until it's
appeared in at least two versions in a row.

But can you keep an older version around as well and use that as needed?
