I am attempting to find someway to broadcast my PCs audio on my network but
the only thing I can find is Vypress Tonecast and it costs $500 for what I
want to do. I want to be able to do it real time kinda like a radio station
where I can talk and play music over my LAN at the same time. If there is a
preferably free way to do this plz share but if not just tell me anyway.
Thanks for your help.

I have done something simaler only I wsa running a music service I
received through Direcway (Satalite Internet). The music would only work on
my server so I did the following to get it to my networked pcs. Something
like this might work for you.

According to MyDirecWay.com, you can't ... But there is a way !

Requirements : WinAmp MP3 / Audio playback software (Click HERE to download)
A SHOUTcast compatible sound card must in both the
host & client computer.

Ok .. got those ? Here's what to do next .. :

(1) Go to MyDirecWay.com with your host computer, and start playing
MyDirecWay Radio. (Leave the radio playing while
you perform the next steps.)

(2) Install WinAmp on the client system(s) that you wish to play MyDirecWay
Radio on.

(3) Install Winamp on the host computer. Make sure the client computer(s)
you want to play MyDirecWay Radio on
can see the host computer on your LAN.

(4) Download and install the SHOUTcast DSP Plug-In for WinAmp on the host
computer. (DSP Plug-in acts as a bridge
between your Winamp software and a SHOUTcast DNAS server.) You can
download the SHOUTcast DSP Plug-in
by clicking HERE .

(5) Download SHOUTcast Server, and install it on the host computer . You can
download it by clicking HERE .

(6) On the host computer, click Start / Programs / SHOUTcast DNAS / Edit
SHOUTcast DNAS Configuration. Change the password to whatever you prefer,
and save the file. Then, click Start / Programs / SHOUTcast DNAS / SHOUTcast
DNAS GUI.

(7) On the host computer load WinAmp. Go to the WinAmp preferences and click
Plug-ins / DSP/Effect / Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP. The SHOUTcast Source
dialog will pop up. Click on the Input tab. Change Input Device to Soundcard
Input. When you do this, the Input Levels meter should show activity, (from
the MyDirecWay Radio still playing on the host.) If it doesn't, then you'll
need to connect a short stereo din-plug cable from the audio-out on the
soundcard, to the audio-in on the soundcard. (Do this only if you did not
get activity on the meter.)

(8) Click the Encoder tabin WinAmp. Click on "Encoder 1" and change Encoder
Type to MP3 Encode. Next, set the Encoder Settings to 96kbs, 44.100khz,
Stereo. Now click on the "Output" tab. Enter the password you chose above in
step 6 , and change the Encoder to 1. (You may wish to clear the Make This
Server Public checkbox under Yellowpages) Make note of the port number
(should be 8000) and click on "Connect".

(9) Now go to the client computer you want to listen to MyDirecWay Radio on,
and run Winamp. Once loaded, press Control-L. Enter the IP address of the
host computer and the port number you just noted (e.g. "192.168.0.10:8000").

You're done ! If all went right MyDirecWay Radio should now be playing on
the client computer.
