In powerpoint 2002, Slide Show>Online
Broadcast>Settings>Advanced>Windows Media Server>Use this
local Windows Media Server on this LAN: - when I enter the
name of the server I get the following message:
"Powerpoint was unable to locate the Windows Media Server
at X. Please ensure that the location is correct"

I'm sure the location is correct, but I not sure if I'm
using the correct form of words.

Can anyone help?

Regards,

Tim

Tim,

Been there, done that, and unfortunately experienced the same problem. I
never worked out how to resolve it, sorry. I used to have a bunch of kb
article links before the laptop crash of 2002. But if you go to:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=FH;[LN];KBHOWTO

you might be able to search for the error.

Glen,

Thanks for your reply. PP KB doesn't deal with this issue.

Do you know if it's has been resolved in PP2003?

Tim,

No, I don't know. When I get a moment, I could have a look. But it is close
to exams.
