Tried to post this message earlier but cannot find it
anywhere, so my apologies if you have had to read it
twice.
I have recently installed a Broadband modem and have been
having trouble with my computer freezing. Around the same
time I got a virus which I thought was responsible.
Having cleared the virus, the freezing still occured. I
have now narrowed it down and it looks as if it was the
modem driver. I have tried to uninstall it, which solves
the problem, and then reinstall it, but my computer goes
back to freezing repeatedly. The modem specifications
state minimum requirements of: Pentium II, 400MHz and
128MB Ram. My laptop is just over a year old and,
although not Pentium II, it is an AMD Athlon Mobile XP
1800+ with 512MB memory. I assumed that this would
support the modem. Am I correct to assume this? Any
comments would be much appreciated. Thanks
