Broadband routers sold for home use have an Internet connection
sharing capability, and most of them have a 4-port switch. With such
a router, you connect the DSL modem to the WAN (Internet) port,
connect the computers to the LAN ports, and configure the router to
log onto your DSL service. The router gives Internet access to the
computers, with no need for ICS. If you've installed/enabled ICS on
one of your computers, un-install/disable it when you get the router.
