broadband landline v cable

can anyone give me advice as i am recieving conflicting views! can i receive
a higher speed via cable -or sky- than i get via virgin landline? i only
rteceive 1.5 -i am paying for upto 8!!

Cable is generally faster than telephone line as it uses optic fibre....

All ISPs with which I'm familiar only promise their "best efforts" to
provide you with any particular speed/bandwidth. If you're paying for
8Mbps and only getting 1.5Mbps, call your ISPs tech support and ask them
to check your connection.
