I have windows XP I do not know if this is where I should post this, but. I
was trying to make my computer the way it was when I bought it at the
factory. I tried going to pc help & Tools the to HP PC System Recovery, but
I got a message that
Cannot find log file restore.log, then
Error 2 Minint\system32\Restore.log Missing

What should I do, I really hate how slow and all of the junk on my computer

Have you contacted HP?

Remember, doing what you intend to do will, in all probability, erase every
thing on your hard drive, so back up your data and make sure the backup is
readable, once you restore to the factory state all is gone.

HP uses its own repair/restore programs. They operate differently than the
options available with a retail XP CD. And in some cases, HP tools will
differ from one HP model to the next. Consequently, HP tech support is who
you need to troubleshoot this with.

Ya, I have contacted HP Tech Support. They want to charge me $40 and I still
have to be on the phone with them, and mess with it myself. Maybe I am a
cheep skate. Do you know of a good HP Tech Support Site that is free like
this one?

Hey, thanks I went to hp.com and got some info, but still running into
problems. I was going to start my computer in safe mode, and then cut and
paste the file in the appropriate place, but the first step is to go into
safe mode. I am having a hard time going into safe mode. The steps are
Start, Shut down, in drop down list click OK. When it says please select the
operating system to start press f8 use arrows to highlight the appropriate
safe mode option and then press enter, but my computer does not do that, the
way mine works is you press shut down and re-start, and it goes to the HP
window, a big blue screen with HP on it and I have pressed f8 during that
time, but nothing happends. Any ideas.

Keep pressing F8 every second or so, it should eventually give you the boot
menu.
