Is there such a free program that will brighten up the monitor, we have an
NEC V700 it's a good picture but the brightness at it's Max still isn't vary
good. on some video cards it's possible to brighten up the monitor with the
video driver/program. so is there any software general that will do this!

|i tried it but have doubt...
|you may be luckier

Monitor Calibration Wizard is an easy-to-use tool for calibrating the
colors displayed by your monitor. Most monitors have flaws, they may
be too dark, too bright, or they may have a color tint like green or
blue. All these problems can be easily fixed through Monitor
Calibration Wizard.

Gamma Panel ( gapa.zip )....should do exactly what you want, `cos it
did exactly the same thing for me.

This one's the dog's Steve, thanks for the link.

I've tried mcw but it's a bit unwieldy, this ones neat, fast,
multiprofiled, and easy to use

Sounds like your monitor is going bad. I had one monitor for 10 years
before I couldn't turn up the brightness anymore and it was not
possible to read it. I threw it away at that point.
