A colleague is creating a presentation using PPT '97/SR-2 under WinXP.
The computer uses the latest Excalibur driver (3.6) from ATI for the
Raedon 9000 video card (128 MB video ram).

When editting images from Corel (PhotoPaint) and Adobe (PhotoShop)
products, and probably others, they appear with a bright pink/magenta
color. I thought a driver issue for the video card may correct this,
but to no avail.

When displayed in the "slideshow", it appears with the correct color.
Also, the correct color is displayed when printed. It's only during
the editting phase when things don't appear correctly -- and it makes
it difficult to change colors on things!

If anyone could help, it would of great assitance. A reply to
(e-mail address removed) and/or (e-mail address removed), in addition to the newsgroup,
would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Armand

Since it displays fine in show mode, but not in edit mode, that points
to a video driver issue. I understand that you have the latest driver,
but it still sounds as if there's an issue with it. You might first try
changing hardware acceleration
(http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00129.htm for instrux) and then try
installing a different video driver if the hardware acceleration thing
doesn't work.
