I have just built a new pc and its been ok but every so often I come to turn
it on and while its booting up I get a screen full of "Bridge Unknown
Device". It then goes to ask me if I want to boot up in safe mode and no
matter what I choose at that screen it always reboots and does them same
again.
In frustration I banged the PC and then it booted up ok, anybody got any
ideas?

Cheers John

First thing: Hitting the offending hardware is not a solution to the root
cause :)
Second thing: It may cause unecessary damage to other non-related hardware
:)
Third thing: What are the specifics of your hardware?

Ok I understand about not hitting the pc, but it was just winding me up.

New PC spec,
XP2600+, MSI KT4V M/B, 512mB Crucial Ram, Leadtek Winfast AGP 64MB Graphics
Card, 120GB H/D.

Sounds like you may need to do a repair install of the OS (what is your OS?)
and once, back in Windows (is it windows?:), update the motherboard drivers.

I get the same message with an older scsi array card. Looking for PCI to PCI
bridging device driver or something & got told I need a patch from my board
maker. I don't worry about it because everything seems to work OK.
