Breaking up a name

How could I break a field (NAME) which contains the data value SMITH
JOHN into 2 fields (LAST NAME) (FIRST NAME).

Look in the Help file for the Instr function. Use it to find the space or comma
between the Last Name and First Name. Also look up the Left function which you
need to get the Last Name and look up the Mid function which you need to get the
First Name. If you need any outside help with your application, note that I am
in business as a resource for help with Access.
