Currently there are a few groups of users in the company
i am required to set up a rule in outlook that directs a copy of mails send out by each group of users into each of their respective folders how do i do that specifically? At the same time, for convience i wanto set it up once and this rule applys to all users logging into their respective accounts. HElp appreciated..

Why don't you just a general mailbox for that workgroup?

Setting up rules to accomplish this is quite a lot of work and can easily go
wrong and is hard to troubleshoot. If you create a workgroup mailbox you
only need one rule. When message is send move a copy to "foldername in
workgroup mailbox". It will also save you from lots of duplicate e-mail
around the mailboxes.

If you use Exchange server, set up message journaling on the server.

What do u mean journaling ? currently i am in a single domain environment and have exchange server

Another problem encountered is that even if i direct mails into public folders the rule is still considered as client rule

You can look up message journaling in Exchange help. It's a feature you can set on each mailbox store in Exchange 2000 or later that will do what you're looking for.

Not if you use a forward rule, instead of a move rule.
